We’re looking to add a founding software engineer to our team to work full-stack on our product! You’ll be one of our first hires. We work in San Francisco (Startup HQ on 2nd Street) in-person at least 5 days a week.

• Albert was CEO at OneShop, an app for selling on multiple resale marketplaces and grew to $4.4M in annualized recurring revenue in 24 months. Backed by General Catalyst, Garry Tan, and YC. Was engineer #3 at X1 Card (acq. Robinhood) and a software engineer at Twitter when he was 19.
• Vincent led growth as a founding employee at several startups, including Wildfire (acq. Opendoor), X1 Card (acq. Robinhood), Bubble, and OneShop. Ecosystem lead at Bubble, built the request-for-proposal marketplace, and helped scale the company from 20 to 100 employees.

About the job

You love writing software. You have both a broad understanding of how to build full-stack applications and an ability to dive deep that allows you to really own the code you write in a production environment. You know when to lean on pattern matching and when to break down a system to understand its fundamentals.

You love building products and are curious about why people end up picking the products that they lean on everyday. You have a sense of taste but are willing to test it in the market. You enjoy finding out the truth and aren’t afraid to pick up the phone.

We don't have any formal qualifications for this role, but we really value how fast you pick things up. In fact, one of our founders Albert wrote software at Twitter full-time when he was 19 without studying computer science.

The technical stack is very straightforward right now. We write everything in TypeScript. The frontend is built with Next.js / React Native. We use Porter as our control plane. Our primary database is Postgres.

Rize is building the next-generation operating system and applications for home services businesses to run their operations. There are a few incumbents in the space that are unicorns or making more than $100m/year selling mediocre software. We’re aiming to beat all of them at product and distribution.
